This Privacy Policy describes how Masjids Info (“we”, “us”, “MasjidsInfo”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile apps, website (masjidsinfo.com), and related services (together, the “Services”).
1. Who we are
MasjidsInfo helps users discover masjids and community information such as news, events, and optional account features. For privacy requests contact contact@masjidsinfo.com.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:
- Account and profile information — name, email address, optional phone number, optional postal address, and password or social-login identifiers when you register or sign in.
- Location — precise device location when you grant permission, used to sort masjids by distance and to show the in-app map. You can deny permission and still browse without map or distance features.
- In-app messages — notifications we send to your account inbox (for example service or community updates).
- Photos and videos — only if you are an approved masjid manager and choose to upload media for listings, news, or events.
- Donation and payment information — when you choose to support MasjidsInfo through in-app checkout, payment details are processed by Stripe; we may store donation history linked to your account.
- Contact form information — name, email, and message when you contact us (with or without an account).
- Device and session information — device type, app version, and session identifiers used for security and sign-in session management.
- Usage and technical logs — basic server logs (for example IP address, timestamps, and error diagnostics) to operate and secure the Services.
3. How we use information
- Provide app functionality (browse masjids, news, events, accounts, subscriptions, manager tools).
- Authenticate users and manage accounts, including optional two-step verification.
- Send in-app messages and respond to support requests.
- Process optional donations to MasjidsInfo (not to individual masjids).
- Protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.
4. Third-party services
We use trusted providers that process data on our behalf or as part of a feature you choose:
- Google Maps — map display; may receive location when you use the map.
- Google Sign-In and Facebook Login — optional authentication.
- Stripe — optional in-app donations (PIX, card, Google Pay, Boleto where enabled).
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure — to run our APIs and store account content securely.
Each provider’s use of data is also governed by its own privacy policy.
5. Legal bases (including Brazil LGPD)
Where applicable (including for users in Brazil under the LGPD), we rely on bases such as performance of a contract, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and consent when required (for example optional location or donations). See also our data subject rights (LGPD) page.
6. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain your account, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. When you request deletion, we delete or anonymize data unless we must retain it by law.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access, update, or delete account profile fields in the app where available.
- Control location permission in your device settings.
- Request account or data deletion via our data rights page.

8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for data sent between the app and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child provided personal data.
10. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than your own. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and adjust the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
